This project served as a pilot for democratized UXR, which led to an unexpected increase in testers from 5 to 20 all within one week. To accommodate, I implemented a rapid iterative testing model, significantly accelerating my learning and multiple design iterations. A key learning was that simplifying products in the face of complex competitors presents a unique challenge due to user mental models; users often assume functional similarity and tend to overlook detailed information, even if it's simpler.
To expedite development and meet the constraint of a launch within a month, I started by designing within existing available templates. The initial flow, comprising a feature introduction, setup instructions, a how-to guide, and a sharing page, remained consistent throughout the design process. Daily research insights and design iterations revealed that minor adjustments yielded substantial improvements in comprehension and task completion. Consequently, success was heavily reliant on chunking text into concise segments, demonstrating concepts visually, refining existing components to enhance hierarchy and reusability and optimizing CTAs for clarity.
LTK DM generated $35k in revenue within two months, positioning the project to surpass the initial target and significantly boosted Creator conversion by 122%. Post-launch feedback from 1,700 Creators was overwhelmingly positive, directly contributing to the subsequent launch of four new features designed to further enhance engagement.
